The shrine of the Prophet of God, our master Seth

The Maqam of Prophet Seth (Shayth, peace be upon him) is a revered site believed to be the resting place of Prophet Seth, the son of Prophet Adam (peace be upon them both). The name "Shayth" means "Gift of Allah", as he was born to Adam after Cain (Qabil) killed Abel (Habil). Although Prophet Seth’s name is not mentioned in the Quran, he is referenced in Islamic traditions and hadith. According to a narration by Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) stated: "Allah revealed one hundred and four scriptures, of which fifty were given to Seth." Historian Ibn Ishaq mentioned that when Adam was nearing his death, he entrusted Seth with his knowledge, including the timing of day and night and acts of worship for each period. Adam also forewarned him of the coming of the Great Flood. It is said that all of humankind today traces its lineage back to Seth, as the other children of Adam did not leave descendants. Several locations around the world, including Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Turkey, claim to house the maqam of Prophet Seth, though the exact location remains unknown. These sites are visited by pilgrims who seek blessings and reflect on the legacy of Seth’s wisdom and devotion to Allah.
