The shrine of the great companion, Sayyidna Jabir ibn Abdullah, may God be pleased with him

The Tomb of the Honorable Companion Jaber ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) is a significant Islamic landmark. Jaber ibn Abdullah Al-Ansari Al-Salami was a distinguished Companion of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and among the prolific narrators of hadith. He was known for his close association with the Prophet, having narrated numerous hadiths that were later transmitted by several other Companions. Jaber and his father were both Companions of the Prophet, and he was among those who pledged allegiance at the Second Pledge of Aqaba. He actively participated in 19 out of the 21 battles led by the Prophet (peace be upon him). According to historical records, Jaber had a teaching circle in the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, where he imparted knowledge to scholars and students. He was one of the last surviving Companions in Medina, and according to Qatadah, he was believed to be the last of the Prophet’s Companions to pass away in Medina. However, Al-Baghawi states that Sahl ibn Sa'd outlived him. Jaber lived a long life, passing away in 78 AH (697 AD) at the age of 94 years. He instructed that Al-Hajjaj ibn Yusuf should not lead his funeral prayer due to his oppressive rule. Today, his tomb remains a revered site, attracting visitors who wish to pay homage to one of the most respected narrators of hadith and a dedicated Companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him).
