Tafilah Archaeological Museum

The Al-Tafilah Archaeological Museum is located in the heart of Al-Tafilah city and serves as a distinctive addition to the province's tourist attractions. The museum houses a collection of significant artifacts representing renowned historical sites in the region, such as Khirbet edh-Dharih, Khirbet et-Tannur, the Church of Ar-Rashadiya, and the ruins of Busayra. It showcases the succession of historical periods from the late Edomite era to the late Islamic periods, aiming to acquaint visitors with the rich archaeological and cultural heritage of Al-Tafilah, which is a fundamental component of the local cultural and historical identity. Notably, the museum was officially inaugurated on October 16, 2024, by Minister of Culture Mustafa Al-Rawashdeh, coinciding with the kingdom's silver jubilee celebrations of His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein's ascension to the throne.
