Southern Theatre

The Southern Theatre in Jerash is a large, well-preserved Roman amphitheater dating back to the 1st century AD. Built during the reign of Emperor Domitian around 90 AD, the theater could originally seat around 3,000 spectators. This historic site was a central place for gatherings, performances, and cultural events in ancient Gerasa (Jerash). The theater's acoustics are remarkable, making it a popular spot for modern cultural festivals and performances that bring the ancient structure to life for contemporary audiences.
