Sabra Valley

Wadi Sabra was a key Nabataean agricultural and industrial hub, featuring a theater carved into the cliffs with a water reservoir above and a basin behind the stage. Cave dwellings line the wadi, while a cult niche and the perennial spring, Ain Sabra, lie just beyond the theater. On the northwest side, ruins of a monumental building with large columns, likely a temple, overlook the spring. Copper and iron ore deposits, along with cupriferous sandstone, highlight Wadi Sabra’s role as a vital metalworking center in ancient Petra.
