Ma'an Heritage Museum

The Ottoman Ma'an Castle, which has been transformed into a museum, was built between 1559 and 1563 during the reign of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent to ensure the safety of pilgrimage caravans traveling through Ma'an from the Levant to the Hijaz. The museum showcases the history of ancient Ma'an and documents the strategic significance of the city across different historical periods. It features several sections, including exhibits on Ma'an’s history in agriculture, trade, and other fields, highlighting the city's historical evolution. The museum is open to visitors from Ma'an, other Jordanian provinces, and researchers and orientalists from around the world, serving as a gateway to Jordan's rich heritage.
