Jabal Al-Tahkeem

Jabal al-Tahkeem, also known as Jabal al-Ash‘ari, is the mountain that witnessed the historic arbitration between the two companions Ali ibn Abi Talib and Mu‘awiyah ibn Abi Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with them) following the Battle of Siffin in 37 AH (657 AD). At this site, the two sides met to resolve the dispute that arose after the battle, with Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari and Amr ibn al-‘As serving as the appointed arbitrators to discuss matters related to the caliphate. The mountain is located in the area of Adhruh, 22 kilometers north of the city of Ma‘an in Jordan. It is considered a significant historical landmark, attracting researchers and visitors interested in exploring this pivotal moment in Islamic history.
