The shrine of the Prophet of God, our master Solomon

The Shrine of Prophet Solomon (Suleiman, peace be upon him) is a significant religious and historical site associated with Prophet Solomon, the son of Prophet David (Dawud, peace be upon them both). Prophet Solomon is one of the greatest prophets mentioned in the Quran 17 times, and he was blessed with wisdom, justice, and a kingdom of unparalleled power, ruling over humans, jinn, animals, and birds. Prophet Solomon (970–931 BCE) was known for his ability to communicate with birds and animals, as highlighted in the story of the hoopoe (hudhud) and the Queen of Sheba (Bilqis) in Surah An-Naml (27:22-44). He was also granted knowledge, supernatural abilities, and control over the winds and jinn, who built magnificent structures under his command. His death is uniquely narrated in Surah Saba (34:14), where he passed away while leaning on his staff in worship. The jinn, who worked tirelessly under his rule, did not realize he had died until a termite (dabbatul-ard) gnawed through his staff, causing his body to collapse. This event revealed that jinn do not possess knowledge of the unseen, a lesson emphasized in the Quran. While the exact location of his burial remains unknown, various sites, including some in Palestine and Jordan, are linked to Prophet Solomon. One such site is believed to be in Karak, Jordan, a region with deep historical connections to ancient biblical and Islamic traditions. Today, the Shrine of Prophet Solomon serves as a place of spiritual reflection and historical significance, visited by those who honor his wisdom, justice, and devotion to Allah.
