Wadi al Arab

Wadi al Arab

Wadi Araba is one of the significant valleys in the eastern region of Jordan, located within the Irbid Governorate. It serves as a confluence for streams flowing from areas such as Beit Ras and Ham, eventually draining into the Jordan River. The annual flow of the wadi is estimated at around 15 million cubic meters, making it an important water source in the area. A dam, the Wadi Araba Dam, has been constructed in the wadi to control floodwaters and maximize the use of water resources in the region. The valley plays a vital role in agriculture and irrigation in Jordan.
