Umayyad Palace

The Umayyad Palace, located on Amman's Citadel (Jabal al-Qal'a), is a historic structure dating back to the Umayyad period in the 8th century. It served as a royal residence and was part of a larger complex that included administrative buildings, residential quarters, and a mosque. The palace is famous for its grand entrance, distinctive domed audience hall, and intricate architectural details, showcasing early Islamic art and design. Although much of the structure is in ruins, the Umayyad Palace remains a testament to Jordan’s rich Islamic heritage and offers stunning views over the city of Amman.
