Umayyad Baths

The Umayyad Baths, located on Amman's Citadel Hill, are remnants of a luxurious bathhouse complex dating back to the Umayyad period in the 8th century. These baths demonstrate the intricate design and advanced heating systems of early Islamic architecture, combining Roman-inspired bathhouse traditions with Islamic aesthetics. The site features sections for hot, warm, and cold bathing, along with finely decorated walls and floors. Today, the ruins offer a glimpse into the social and cultural practices of the Umayyad era and are a significant part of Jordan's historical landscape.
