Turkish Martyrs Monument

The Turkish Martyrs' Monument, situated just 500 meters from the city center, was established to honor and commemorate the sacrifice of 300 Turkish soldiers and officers from the Fourth Army Corps, who fell in battle against British forces during the Battle of Al-Sharia in 1918, during World War I. In 2009, an Ottoman fortress tower was constructed adjacent to the monument. The site also includes a small war museum and a memorial wall inscribed with the names of the fallen soldiers, preserving their legacy for future generations.
