The Textbook Museum

The Textbook Museum, located at Al-Salt Secondary School for Boys, is the first of its kind in Jordan and the Arab world, showcasing the evolution of school curricula from the establishment of the Emirate of Transjordan in 1921 to the present. The idea for its establishment was introduced by Dr. Saeed Al-Tal in 1983, and its new building was officially inaugurated in 2008, featuring an architectural design inspired by traditional Jordanian houses. The museum holds over 5,500 books and educational documents, including curricula from Jordan and Palestine, along with official documents, school certificates, and historical correspondences, making it a vital resource for researchers in education. The exhibits are arranged chronologically, reflecting the educational and cultural transformations in Jordan, while also providing visitors and researchers with opportunities to conduct comparative studies between old and modern curricula. The museum is open daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, except Fridays, Saturdays, and official holidays, with free admission, making it a distinguished cultural destination that highlights the educational evolution of the kingdom.
