The shrine of the companion Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf

The Maqam of Abdur-Rahman bin Awf is a commemorative site attributed to the esteemed companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is located in the Jubaiha area, north of the Jordanian capital, Amman. This site is not an actual tomb but rather a symbolic landmark indicating that Abdur-Rahman bin Awf may have stayed in or passed through this region during his time in Bilad al-Sham (Greater Syria). As one of the ten companions promised Paradise (Al-Ashara Al-Mubasharin bil-Jannah), Abdur-Rahman bin Awf is known for his wisdom, generosity, and significant contributions to early Islam. The maqam serves as a place of historical and spiritual reflection, visited by those who seek to honor his legacy.
