The shrine of Bilal bin Rabah

The shrine of Bilal bin Rabah

The Maqam of the Companion Bilal ibn Rabah is located in "Bilal Village" in the Wadi Al-Seer area, a district of Amman, Jordan. It is a modern structure housing a tomb attributed to Bilal ibn Rabah, the esteemed muezzin of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. However, historical records indicate that Bilal passed away in Damascus, where his actual grave is believed to be. Therefore, this site is considered a "maqam" (commemorative shrine) rather than an actual burial place. The shrine serves as a symbolic landmark honoring Bilal’s legacy, reminding visitors of his devotion, beautiful call to prayer, and his deep connection to the early days of Islam.
