The Duke's Diwan

Located in downtown Amman, The Duke’s Diwan is one of the city’s oldest preserved houses. Built in 1924, it first served as Amman’s central post office, later becoming the Ministry of Finance, and eventually Haifa Hotel. In 2001, Mouldi Basharat — known as “The Duke” — restored the building and preserved its original charm. Today, it stands as a cultural hub and a small museum that reflects life in Amman during the early 20th century.
