Roman Theater

The Roman Theater in Amman, Jordan, is a magnificent amphitheater built into a hillside in the 2nd century AD during the reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius. This well-preserved site, with a seating capacity of approximately 6,000, stands as a testament to Roman architectural ingenuity. It remains a central venue for cultural events and performances in Jordan today. The theater also houses two museums: the Jordan Folklore Museum, showcasing Jordan’s cultural heritage, and the Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions, featuring traditional costumes, artifacts, and Bedouin heritage.
