Maqam of Nabi Shoaib

Maqam of Nabi Shoaib

The mosque and shrine of Prophet Shu'ayb were recently constructed and renovated, with the mosque being inaugurated under the patronage of King Abdullah II of Jordan during the month of Ramadan in 2003. The mosque includes a men's prayer hall, which can accommodate about 500 worshippers, and a separate women's prayer hall with a capacity for around 200 worshippers. The complex also features the shrine itself, a multi-purpose hall, a library, accommodations for the Imam and the Mu'azzin, an arcade, as well as restrooms and ablution facilities for both men and women. The total area of the mosque and its surroundings is 2,000 square meters, with the total cost of the project amounting to 950,000 Jordanian dinars. The original building consisted of a small dome above the shrine of Prophet Shu'ayb, which has now been fully developed and linked to the main road leading to the Jordan Valley via a subsidiary street.
