Grand Husseini Mosque

The Grand Husseini Mosque, an iconic religious and historic site in downtown Amman, was commissioned by King Abdullah I in 1924. Constructed on the site of an earlier mosque established by the Caliph Omar Bin Al-Khattab around 640 CE, the mosque reflects both Islamic heritage and Jordanian legacy. Built in a classic Ottoman architectural style, the mosque’s pink-and-white stone façade and striking minarets are a notable part of the city's skyline. Today, it serves as a center for worship and community gatherings, drawing both locals and visitors for its spiritual significance and cultural importance.
