Archaeological Museum of Umm Qais

The Umm Qais Museum (Arabic: متحف أم قيس) is located in the Irbid Governorate of Jordan and is dedicated to preserving and showcasing artifacts from the archaeological site of Umm Qais, the ancient city of Gadara. Situated in the Acropolis of Gadara, the museum is housed in a traditional Arabian residence built during the Ottoman period in the 1960s. The house, formerly owned by the Faleh Falah al-Rousan family, is known as the House of Rousan. Renovated in 1990, it now serves as a museum with exhibits conserved by the General Department of Antiquities and the German Protestant Institute. The museum, restored by Ammar Khammash, received a notable visit from Charles, Prince of Wales, in November 2021.
