Al-shams Theater

Al Shams Theater, inaugurated in November 2017, is an artistic space dedicated to showcasing diverse forms of art through a rich and inclusive program. Established as Jordan's first repertoire theater, it was founded by its creator as a non-profit institution entirely at personal financial cost. Inspired by Ariane Mnouchkine’s Théâtre du Soleil, the name “Al Shams” reflects its mission of enlightenment and cultural exchange. Located in the heart of Amman, where the historic Concorde Cinema once stood, the theater collaborates with local, Arab, and international artists to promote performing arts and foster young talent. It offers training workshops, art exhibitions, and creative meetings to cultivate artistic skills. As a vibrant cultural hub, Al Shams Theater aspires to be a mirror of all art forms, providing a safe and enriching space for intellectual and creative exploration.
