Ain Janna

Ain Janna

Ain Janna is a village located in the Ajloun Governorate in the northwestern part of Jordan. The name "Ain Janna" translates to "Spring of Paradise" in Arabic, where "Ain" refers to a spring (of water) and "Janna" means paradise. This name was given to the village due to the abundance of water springs and the evident availability of water in the village and its surroundings. In fact, Ain Janna still has some springs, contributing to its green and crystal-clear landscape. It is approximately 70 km (43 miles) north of Amman, the capital of Jordan, and lies on two juxtaposed mountains, providing a view of Ajloun Castle and three neighboring towns. The average altitude of the village is about 1,100 meters above sea level, allowing most houses to enjoy views extending far beyond Jordan; one can easily see some mountains of Nablus in the West Bank, about 30 km (22 miles) away in straight-line distance.
