A screening of the French film “Far from Men” (2014), set in Algeria in 1954 under French colonial rule, shortly before the outbreak of the war of independence. Daru, a teacher at a remote school far from the political and military conflicts, sees his life change when he is asked to escort an Algerian prisoner to the authorities in a nearby town. Along the way, the two men face many dangers and struggles that force them to rely on each other, while Daru finds himself facing difficult choices about his stance on the conflict around him.
